Ninety-Third Passage

Last week we all went to Ontrario for a Pumpkin Palooza. Nana Sugar planted and grew pumpkins with the kids this summer so that they could enter them into this pumpkin contest. Their plants grew exactly 4 pumpkins, so they all got to enter into varying categories.
But that's not all they had there. Be prepared to be inundated with a multitude of pictures.

There was a fish pond.
We checked out a small petting zoo.
They got to experience being really strong.

They made their own piece of rope.

They briefly turned into flowers.
They helped make, and then sample, homemade apple juice. It was really yummy.

They got to catapult fish into baskets.

They tried their hand at ringing the bell with the hammer. William and Morgan were able to get the ding.

They played in a bounce house, though we didn't get a picture of it. And all of this stuff was free!
Right before we left we went to hear the results of the pumpkin contest. William had his entered in the Orangest pumpkin competition, Morgan's was in the roundest pumpkin, and Owen and Lydia entered theirs in the prettiest pumpkin bracket. There weren't a ton of pumpkins in any of the categories. And guess what?

Owen won! He got a $25 gift card to the garden store of the company that hosted the party. But since there really wasn't anything to interest a 4 year old boy there, we gave the GC to Nana, since she helped grow the pumpkins and paid the entry fees, and she gave Owen a $5 bill to spend at any store. All were happy with the trade.

Here the kids are posing with their pumpkins.

It was fun! I think it might become a tradition.
