130th Passage

We went on a homeschool field trip to the Botanical Gardens. They had a class about the water cycle that the kiddo's got to participate in. Morgan asked and answered lots of questions. After the class we were able to walk around and have fun. Lisa came with to help. We had lunch there too.

129th Passage

We all went to Parade America this year. In fact, Morgan and William got to walk in the parade with my mom and their cousin, Kaien. The parade in Nampa is pretty much just highschool marching bands, rodeo horses, and political candidates. But the kids had fun and got lots of candy.

Here's a video of the kiddo's passing. Morgan has the yellow shirt, and William is in tan.

Post-it #201

Owen was doing subtraction a bit ago and I noticed
him doing some funny counting. I watched for a bit and was preparing to tell him he was doing it wrong and show him how he should do it. But then he wrote down the right answer. I thought he'd just gotten extremely lucky. But then he did it again. That's when I insisted on him telling me how he was getting to the right answers. I have no idea how he figured this out. It's still a little mind bending to me.

128th Passage

Owen and Lydia. Ah. Enemies. Friends. Don't really know what. They fight all the time, they play all the time, they don't like each other, but they're great friends.
One afternoon they were playing so well without fighting or tattling. Their common interest in bugs brought them together for the afternoon.
They caught a bunch of slugs and stored them in the truck.

Let's do a comparison. This is Owen at 5, a couple weeks ago, and then Owen at 3. His interests haven't changed much.
Owen and Lydia played with bugs together back then too! They look so much different in just two years!

In this last picture Lydia is telling me about the giant spider she saw that was "this big!" Owen then said, "That's not even real, spiders don't get that big. Actually I've seen a bigger spider. A WAY bigger spider than that!"

Allison is getting better at sitting up all the time.

127th Passage

My super silly Alli is delightful. She is much more mobile these days and often gets herself into funny places.
I have this bouncer chair in the bathroom so she can play while I shower or get ready for the day. I always buckle her in now because she can do this:
She's not quite big enough for the highchair either and often gets into funny positions in it.
Look how tiny she looks in Nana's highchair.
Allison loves to kick things, so she'll roll over to the couch or person, or anything, so she can kick it.
Sometimes she rolls into places that are hard to get out of.

 This face cracks me up.

Post-it #198

Lydia LOVES the movie Frozen and the songs and the characters. She once even said that Elsa is her other mommy. Imagine her delight when she went to a birthday party of a little girl in the ward and Elsa was there! I wasn't there, but I'm told Lydia loved her and asked her questions and was fascinated with her.
Her brothers often tell Lydia that "Elsa isn't real." So the other day Lydia, just out of the blue, said, "Mommy, Elsa isn't real." I said, "No, but we can still like her." Lydia said, "But one Elsa is real!" And there is the picture proof!

126th Passage

Every Mother's Day the kids make stepping stones for Nana Sugar with their hand prints.
