Ninetieth Passage

Our last family home evening lesson was on how we can hold to the iron rod. The boys know the story of Lehi's vision of the tree of life pretty well, but I wanted to have a lesson that showed them how we can use it in our lives. So we set up a rod of iron (purple rope) in our backyard that led to our own tree of life (trampoline.) If they could get through the obstacles of life, (toys and wagons) and withstand the temptations (Mommy trying to convince them to let go so they could come and play or see something really cool, and boy were they missing out!) then they could make it to the tree and enjoy partaking of the fruit (caramel apples).
The blindfold represented the mist of darkness.

David wasn't really grumpy. He was just being a turd about getting his picture taken and so posed like this. Everytime Lydia sees this picture she says, "Daddy is mad, mad, mad!"

Hopefully it was a memorable lesson for the kids!
