161st Passage

November 6th Allison turned one!
Alli has been such a good baby. She is therapy for anyone having a bad day. Alli can always make you smile. I've never seen a baby who smiles so much! She is happy all the time, except when she's not. :) She can be pretty shy, but as long as she feels safe with mommy or daddy, she will give smiles to anyone around. Allison is also a very cautious baby when it comes to certain things, like walking. She is very nervous about the possibility of falling down and so won't try to stand without someone helping her, (until very recently).
When Alli goes to sleep she always strokes her hair. She likes hair. She loves her older brothers and sister, and they love her. She's quite the ham and will make funny faces, or crawl in a weird way, or hit her own head if she thinks it will make someone laugh. So lovable.

We've used an owl theme a lot for Allison, so it seemed fitting that her first birthday cake should also be an owl. I made it, but the frosting was a cream cheese frosting and very soft. Not stiff enough to do a great job. And it looked weird without ears, but I couldn't make them with soft frosting.

So I just used pink construction paper. Lol.
See how happy this birthday girl always is? This was the same outfit I put Lydia in for her first birthday.
 She had fun opening presents.

Then it was time for the cake smash!
She was funny. She got the cupcake and just picked it up and took a big bite and ate the entire thing rather systematically.
