135th Passage

I'm two months behind on blogging. These past two months we have done a ton of fun stuff with lots of pictures and stories. I'll never catch up...

Independence Day. David had the day off work, so we kind of relaxed in the morning. I had the kids wear patriotically colored clothes, except Lydia, who didn't have any. But I made her hair into a star, so that has to count.

After lunch we headed to Memorial Park where the city was putting on some fun things.
We got to pet a camel.
Owen had to be uh, forcefully encouraged, to touch the camel.
William and Lydia had the most fun with it, and even pet the head and neck. Morgan touched it a little bit, but I missed getting that picture.
We watched a little puppet show for awhile, then headed to the fire hose. All the kids, (except Owen, who refused to have anything to do with the water) had a blast.

We met up with David's parents while at the fire hose. After awhile, we headed to a little museum place where they have old buildings, trains, and equipment.

We got a free icecream, then parted ways, after another picture or two.

After the park, we headed to my brother Chris's house. They recently acquired an above ground swimming pool, so we played in that a lot. Allison was so weird! She just buried her face in my shoulder while I held her and acted like she was sleeping. Occasionally she would look up, and if she saw David she would start crying! It was so weird! I don't think she liked seeing him with wet hair and without a shirt or something. After awhile though, she warmed up enough to hang out in the baby floaty and look like she was born to relax at the pool.
We were joined their by most of the family, and enjoyed a yummy dutch oven meal.
Before we took off all the kids got to do sparklers.

We left their house and met David's parents again in our neighborhood to watch the Caldwell city fireworks. They launched them from a park that't really close, so we just sat at the outskirts of the neighborhood. It was a good show!
